Sep 30, 2026
On September 30, 2026, I released Karuku, a free browser-based tool for resizing and compressing images. No account is required, and image conversion takes place in your browser.
https://oka-project.com/en/tools/image-resize
What Karuku does
- Resize and convert images between JPEG, PNG and WebP.
- Compress images to a specified size limit and compare the before-and-after result.
- Remove embedded photo metadata and export multiple files as a ZIP archive.
When to use it
Karuku is intended for blog headers, social media posts, documents and other situations where an image needs a suitable format or file size. Check fine text and transparency after compression rather than judging the result by file size alone.
The image data is processed locally in the browser, not sent to a conversion server. This does not replace normal device-security checks or your organization's handling rules for confidential files.
